Over the years, we have gone over our list of cleaners that we make at home, and today I’m sharing them all in one place. What we do differently is keep a small batch of core ingredients on hand that can be used to make multiple products. That way, we are not bringing in a cabinet full of different chemicals or exposing our family to products we don’t fully trust.
Everything we use is simple, straightforward, and made from ingredients we recognize.
Here are the recipes we rely on in our home.
This is our everyday cleaner. We use it on counters, tables, cabinet fronts, and most general surfaces around the house.
Ingredients:
Combine in a spray bottle and shake gently before each use. This cuts grease well and leaves surfaces feeling clean without residue.
Avoid using on natural stone.
This is our simple, natural way to freshen up spaces without artificial fragrance.
Ingredients:
Shake well before each use and lightly mist fabrics, mudroom areas, or anywhere that needs refreshing.
We keep this mixed in a half-gallon jug and refill as needed.
Ingredients:
Add the Borax, washing soda, and Castile soap to a half-gallon container. Fill the rest with hot water and shake until dissolved.
Use 1/4 cup as you would your normal liquid detergent.
Simple and effective.
Ingredients:
Mix together and store in a jar or bottle. Add to the fabric softener compartment of your washing machine.
You are welcome to add essential oils if you prefer a light scent.
